“Since March of 2016, I have been battling Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). My condition abruptly arrived during pregnancy which unfortunately led to overwhelming episodes of stress and depression dealing with a completely new lifestyle as a young single black diabetic mother.
Seeking a healthy and renewed mind, I connected with sunflowers and its symbolism. Then and to today, I strive to go about life like a sunflower. Our melanated skin benefits from the sun like a sunflower. So, my mission is to make an impact on others with relative issues by coming together and healing ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”
